The Star
In 1947 La Societe began it's long association with the Gillis W. Long Hansen's Disease
Center in Carville, La.(formerly known as the U.S. Marine Hospital). Through publishing of the
Carville Star and purchasing equipment to help the patients carry on the fight against the
ignorance of Hansen's Disease (better known as Leprosy). Please visit Our National Homepage
which explains it better than I ever can.

country so great. One such endeavor was when Fairless Hills High School was remodeled, Voiture 929 Donated 300 American Flags, 1

Disaster Relief Fund
The newest program is the Disaster Relief Fund: 40/8 style. A tracker-trailer with the 40/8 emblem on the rear doors carrying emergency relief goods( food, clothing, etc.)
to needed areas hit by disasters(Mother Nature's Handi-work ). Working coast to coast, so far 297 families with 513 children have received $50
vouchers for aid and comfort purchases in 1998. We have picked up a corporate sponsor to help us in our indeavor: Anhauser-Busch Brewing whose trucks
will be carrying all the needed drinking water for all the disasters. All that is needed for the local authorities is to notify Grande (State)
who notifies Nationale who in turn notifies Anhauser-Busch and the trucks roll.
