Marie is a Past Presidente of Grande Cabane Du Pa.

La Presidente Nationale is Berta Henderson from Oklahoma 2006-2007

The La Societe De Femme is an organization formed in 1963 and associated with La Societe Des Quarante Hommes et Huit Cheveau (40/8), made up of female relatives of Voyageurs Militaire. We have been confused with the 8&40 and 4&20 of the American Legion & Auxiliary, which we are not part of. Each of our units and officers are named after the French Railroad. Our units and titles parallel the Voyageurs except that each unit is called Cabane (Caboose). All of our programs are the same as the 40/8, which aids the Voiture and works toward the betterment of La Societe as a whole. To be a member you have to be a mother, wife, daughter or any female relative of a 40/8er.

Our Dames of Cabane 929, are very active in all of our programs.

History:

It all started on September 19th, 1963, the Grande du Indiana issued a Charter for La Societe De Femme, and on October 4th, 1963, the first Cabane Locale, Cabane 145 de Indiana was born. It was chartered with 48 Members. Today their numbers continue to grow with Cabanes being formed in every state and county and continuing to grow each year in membership.

Preamble: For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States, to support and assist the organization of La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux and to advance its principles and programs.

La Societe De Femme has but one great purpose:

"To contribute to the accomplishments of La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux." Societe De Femme, an organization so chartered within itself, has no programs of it's own (except for minor projects within its own Cabanes for fund raising purposes). La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux has no jurisdiction whatsoever over the organization of La Societe De Femme, except in cases where advice is requested. Under no circumstance shall La Femme interfere in the affairs of La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux.
Membership:

Membership is limited to only female relatives, i.e; wives, mothers, daughters, grandmothers, sisters, granddaughters, and step-daughters of a Voyageur Militaire in good standing. Members must be 18 years of age or older. At no time may a Cabane Locale prescribe or establish any eligibility qualifactions for membership in La Societe De Femme which are in conflict with the Constitution and By-laws of Cabane Nationale.
