Welcome to the homepage of Bucks County Voiture Locale 929: La Societe Des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux,
which means The Society of 40 men and 8 horses. Named after the French Boxcars that transported troops and horses during World War I in Europe.
The 40 et 8 is the Honor "Fun" Society of the American Legion, made up of Legion members who have been asked to join our society because
they have served their Post as a worker (Officer, Committeeman, or some other way). We have been called "buffoons", "clowns", and "the men in the funny hats and their crazy locomotives".
But more times than anything we're The "Elite" or "Shock Troops" Of The American Legion". We and Our Dames: The La Societe de Femme do great services to our Posts and Communities with our programs with little or no acknowledgement
or fanfare. Since 1920 we have developed a rich History.
