Bob's Links to Other Cycle Touring Pages

Ken Kifer's Bike Pages

An entertaining site. Ken writes about his own tours, stretching back to 1965, and includes his thoughts on cycling. He's also got many links to other bike touring pages. Sadly, Ken was killed while biking in 2003.

Discovery Ride

Links to a bunch of ride sites

John Dorsey's Bike Trip Across the U.S.

Another personal favorite. John starts in Maryland and ends up in Oregon. He tells about most of his trip on this site, though he stops right after Kansas, and lets pictures tell the story for Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Oregon. But they're great pictures.

Dave & Babak's Cross-country Bicycle Trip

A great site. Lots of cool pictures, a U.S. map that lets you click on a state and link to stories of their adventures in it, plus they have some great stories to tell.

Mike Vermeulen's Bike Trips

Mike biked across the U.S. and Canada on separate trips and from Florida up to Maine once. He takes leaves of absence from work and does the trips in segments.

Ed Noonan's Ride from Alaska to Florida

Lots of detail about Ed's route and about his past experiences in the places he visits. Lots of pictures too. A well-written story. Also stories from his other bike trips.

Mark Boyd's Cross-country Bike Trip

Mark starts in Oregon and rides to North Carolina. On his very first day, just 66 miles into his ride, he fell and broke his collarbone. He started again four days later wearing a brace though.

Ben and Tricia's Online Bike Trips

They start across the country, and cross Virginia, but then skip around, riding in Minnesota later, and in Kansas after that. Lots of pictures. They ride a funky bike of their own construction.

Ray Poore & Connie Poore's Trip

Ray describes their 1997 tour from Seattle to N. Carolina. One picture per day; details on distance/speed. Over all, not bad, except that he doesn't link each day to the next. To continue reading it's best to hit the back button, not his "Return" link. Sadly, Ray has since passed away.

Ian Burns' Bike Trip around the World

He doesn't write about the whole thing, but writes about several interesting experiences in different countries, including the U.S.

Eldertour: Two Ladies Ride Coast to Coast

Kind of interesting. A pair of ladies (55 and 60) rode from San Diego to St. Augustine, FL.

Bikelane.com

Lots and lots of cycling links. Not much in the way of touring stories, though.
