Make the GrAApril 1998 - Newsletter

On April 6, 1998, Make the GrAde will be moving it's offices to a new location in Dresher, PA.
This office will provide a number of positive improvements to the full service tutoring that
Make the GrAde already provides.

The new facility will include:

* a dedicated office which will incorporate computer software and video into
the teaching and learning methods

* accommodations for 1 on 1, and small groups tutoring

* extensive files of tests, worksheets and other support materials for many subjects

* continued concentration of SAT, PSAT, science, math and study skills curricullum

As part of the move, and in observance of the holidays, the office will be closed from
April 10 through April 16. With this move comes some logistic changes as well.

Tutoring is getting to be a larger and larger component of education today!!
More and more students are using tutoring to bolster their skills and improve their grades.
This phenomenon is seen at all levels of education, and at all levels of skills.
In a feature article from the Phila Inquirer (3/29/98), several students were profiled
who are working far ahead of grade level due to "proactive education" and private tutoring.
By all accounts, teachers and educators at all levels feel that this trend is a positive
move by parents and students to be more in control of their education, and their futures.
There is a prevailing feeling that both public and private schools are not fully capable of
teaching students "at optimal levels for every student". Even the best schools, and the best
students are using private tutoring to both keep them up to date on all their classes, but also
to get ahead. For example, there are many cases of 5th and 6th graders performing at 8th grade
math levels. By all accounts, this gives the students a feeling of confidence and a positive
attitude which all parents feel is priceless, and a true commitment to the future.
I am pleased to say that Make the GrAde is on the forefront of many of these trends and will
