MAKE THE GRADE
[dot] Newsletter #1 * Summer 1997 [dot]

Hello and welcome to the premier issue of "Make the GrAde"!!
Steven Greene is very pleased and excited to announce that as of July 1, 1997,
we now offer a full time, complete academic tutoring and consulting service.
For the past six years, Steve has taught Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and
Physiology, Biochemistry, General Science and Algebra in both public and
private high schools.

Concurrently, he has worked as a private tutor, counseling students from fifth
grade, through the university level, on a variety of academic subjects.

"I really enjoyed teaching in the classroom. It is both a responsibility, and
a gift to be able to work with young people as they grow and learn. At the same
time, I have found that one on one, and small group tutoring is not only more
productive but also the most satisfying personally. Also, I feel I have a unique
perspective since I've been in the classroom, and I've worked one on one. I have an
advantage in that I know both what the students have to do to be most successful and
I also know exactly what the teachers want. I look forward to bringing this to my
tutoring students."

In addition to one on one tutoring, Steve also offers small group work, and seminars.
While our service specializes in Science, Math and the SAT/PSAT/GRE standardized tests, we
also have available tutoring in every academic area. We look forward to working with you in
the future!

Summer Enrichment Programs

With the summertime comes the sun and the fun and a time to relax and vacation and go to camp
or the shore and enjoy the (not so hot) weather. The summer is also a great time to get ahead
academically for the fall and the upcoming school year.

We have many students who are hitting the books and getting a jump on the competition by taking
advantage of the summer enrichment programs that are offered.

The most popular are:
1. Subject Preparation for fall classes including math and science classes.

2. Individual study and preparation for the fall SATs / PSATs

3. General Study skills work including outlining, notetaking and time management.

4. Computer Skills (for students and their parents!!)

5. Music Theory and Instruction (yes we do that too!)
