Steve's Study Skills tip...
Read your notes out loud as you study and review.
Why? -->
This combines the visual and audio learning and has an even
greater synergistic effect of combining these learning methods.
Remember, just as we are all individuals, we are also different in
our learning styles. Some of us learn best by writing things down,
others learn best by seeing things, others, by hearing.
Most people use a combination of all these techniques for the best results!
Steve's Study Skills tip...
Use a concept map
Why? -->
A concept map is a flowchart type diagram which maps ideas and shows
how they relate to each other. While these are simple to make, they are powerful
learning tools since they combine many basic ideas into one, and more importantly,
they show how these ideas are related to each other.

Concept Mapping
How? --->
Take information that you need to learn and put it into a flowchart format.
Major ideas, supporting ideas and details can be listed all on one page.
Why? --->
1. Organizes notes on a single page.
2. Gives information priority: what is most important, what is supporting information
and what is detail.
3. Enables you to really see the relationship among all the information

Flashcards
Why? -->
Flashcards are simple, but powerful study aids.
The "basic" flashcard has a word or formula on one side, and its definition or other
related information on the reverse side. These are particularly good for vocabulary,
foreign language, chemistry symbols, etc., etc..
You can also get more from your cards by color coding them by categories.
